Our client relationship starts with generating a creative vision that builds the foundation for the rest of the design project. For a full-service project, we continue through schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.

One of our favorite parts of this job is helping clients decide what ‘their’ vision is and then bringing it to reality!

Alana Okun Ross, founder and principal designer at AOR Design Studio, LLC, developed her design expertise with international interior design and architecture firms including BBGM, HOK and BWA. With more than 15 years in the interior design industry, Alana has a passion for creating highly functional, memorable spaces, with an unwavering commitment to excellence no matter the phase of the project. She expertly collaborates with clients, contractors and suppliers to ensure projects are completed on time and on budget, while fulfilling the client’s vision.

Alana developed her sense of color and room layout at a very young age. It can be traced back to a love of creating dioramas in elementary school – her classmates would wait to see what she came up with. Then when she was a bit older and strong enough to move her own furniture, her parents would often come home to find her bedroom rearranged. She has always had a passion for artfully combining color, materials and textures. She lost some of this creativity through middle school and high school and by the time she got to college, pursued an entirely different direction with a degree from George Washington University’s Honors Program in English, eventually becoming an editor. After working for a few years, Alana realized that writing and editing, while creative, was missing the visual creativity she craved in a career and went back to school, graduating from Drexel University with a Master’s degree in Interior Architecture and Design. This unique and specialized background sets Alana and the studio apart within the design industry.

Alana is based outside of Manhattan where she lives with her incredible family – her husband, toddler daughter and father – each of whom has helped make her dream of entrepreneurship a reality.
